Slaveski was born in Ohrid in 1960. He graduated at the Faculty of Economics, Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia. Prof. Slaveski attended graduate studies at the California State University in Chico, USA (1986/87) and Harvard University (Fulbright Scholar, 1989/90).

His fields of professional interest include: Microeconomics and Macroeconomics; Political economy of transition and privatization; Business and Government; Monetary and Fiscal Policies; Economic and social functions of the State; Labor Economics; Economics of corruption and organized crime.
